Qing Long Tai Chi Arts Society

Crafted a tailored website from scratch to support my client's journey toward digitalizing their business

Role: UI Designer | Duration: 2 weeks, 2023 | Tools: Figma, Squarespace | Platform: Web | Project Type: Client Work | Skills: Wireframing, Prototyping, Website building

Overview

Ready to transform and digitalize their business, the Qing Long Tai Chi Arts Society needed support creating a website aligned with their values and needs. Starting from scratch, I worked with the founder to create an experience that was easy to navigate and minimalistic visually.

Problem

With an upcoming workshop on the horizon, my client needed their website up and running in less than two weeks. Through diligent work, I was able to create preliminary designs using Figma, and with my client's approval, build a fully functional website from scratch on Squarespace.

Solution

Despite the tight deadline, the website was successfully completed within the given timeframe and ready to go live, ensuring a seamless experience for the client's upcoming workshop.

Design Process

Structuring Information

I started by identifying my client's requirements and determining the essential information. Then, I structured the critical sections accordingly. As my client's students may not be tech-savvy, I created a straightforward and user-friendly sitemap.

Why Squarespace

By using a platform like Squarespace to build the website, I aimed to provide my client with the convenience and ease of updating and editing their site whenever they need to. This way, they have the flexibility to make changes and adjustments that align with their evolving needs and preferences.

Accessibility Considerations

In addition to maintaining a simple and minimalist design, it was essential for me to ensure that the website was accessible. To achieve this, I followed the WCAG 2.1 AAA standards, which ensured that all buttons and information on the website were easily accessible.

Impact

Research by The Manifest shows 30% of consumers will not consider a business that does not have a website.

Digitalizing their business allows the Qing Long Tai Chi Arts Society to draw in new customers and provide an easily accessible way for individuals to access their class information, resulting in higher revenue and increased customer satisfaction.
